Rescue and Adopt
If you are interested in pet rescue or adoption, be sure you are ready to take on the task at hand. Most rescue animals were abandoned or in distress. Rescue and adoption orgs bathe, dip, assess medical conditions, update vaccines, nurse animals back to health, since most of them come from less than accepatable situations and find good furrever homes. They educate you on pet care, require spaying and neutering as prevention for euthanasia and over-population as well as many other benefits for these animals. Check with your local organizations for the ideal pet for you. In the process of rehabilitating and finding homes for these animals, they are assessed to see whether they should be around children, other dogs or cats, need special care, and by age and size. All rescue organizations need your help, whether it be foster homes, donating supplies such as food, crates, litter, paper towels, money or simply donating your time to help with walking, cleaning, paperwork etc. If you are a rescue organization, you are welcome to set up a free profile with a group and list your adoptables here. Be sure to add a link to your site and visible contact information. If you need any help, I would be happy to assist you, just contact me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Feline Allergies If you are allergic to cats but absolutely love them, check out our group on Siberian Forest Cats. The majority of allergies are caused by the Feld1 protein in the cats saliva. In most domestic cats, this protein runs around 60,000mg but in the beautiful Siberian Forest Cat it runs around 200mg. This means you can be a happy kitty owner. I highly recommend you find a Siberian owner or breeder to visit and test your resistence level prior to purchase for the sake of the kitty and yourself.
